Yeah, the t/o was spectacular, almost VTOL at first. Yes, I forgot that real weather does that to you with waves. Try doing the same with a seamax, even at a lowly 50kts we're talking 1 massive bounce followed by 4 or 5 further gut-churning bounces before settling down in time to radio for hull repairs. P. S. I've just Acquired your aadx3600, love it, that has such a powerful climb! I have to upgrade my earplugs with those 3 engine though. I'm giving it a thorough video rinse and perm, so it won't be ready in the next few days. Simon

This is a beast to get off the ground but I finally got the speed up after about the third run.
Headwind of 9 kts. You'll see the flaps go down at the last second which helped a bit,
but you'll also see me lose altitude because of it. I managed to save it and pull out.
Anyway, good challenge. 2:50 video. Thanks for the music Chuck... ;)

Hey CapnSully,
Nice video of the 3600... definitely one of my favorite aircraft. Sits at the very front of my hangar and I consider it one of Jason's finest. Glad to see you enjoy her as much as I do. Good luck on your visit with the Col in SL this afternoon.
See you around the terminal...

Lightning and Thunder?

Okay, I've been flying X-Plane for a couple of years now and I have never seen lightning nor heard thunder, but in you video they are definitely present. How is your weather set up? And what computer are you using? I'll have to check my settings tonight when I get home. Great videos, by the way!

Good to meet u Herby :)

Yes, we had a good yack, but SL sucks for interactivity. Audio'll be nice one day.

Yes, that's a good plane, honoured with my hardest edit yet. About 30 mins of footage ruthlessly cut to a few mins!

Hi Steven, you made me revisit my settings.

Max precipitation and storm settings should do it. I've been testing the worth of Reallife '09 from the .org for cloud textures, and can confirm it definitely adds to the grey effect. That's what I used in the vid.

It is a bit of pot luck though - I just redid the same settings in a different location and the thunder was not as loud or close, so you may need to relaunch the location a few times to get the pretty spectacular weather I got in my vid, on my youtube channel ' id5556'.

I'm using an intel Core i7 920 slightly overclocked to 3.2ghz, NVidia gtx 275, only had it since July.

Thanks for enjoying my vids, the last one took a few hrs of editing.

Simon
